Tanur is in Malappuram, Kerala. It is one of the oldest Portugese settlements which was visited by St Francis Xavier in 1546 A.D. The Keraladeshpuram Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and believed to be one of the oldest temples in Kerala, is 3 km south of Tanur town.

Tanur Beach is a very beautiful beach situated in Kerala. Eco tourism is practiced in almost all the beaches in Kerala. This Tanur Beach is also well known for substantiating this idea of eco tourism to the fullest. Tanur beach is a wonderful location where people from all around come for picnic.

Air: The nearest airport is at Kozhikode, 36 km away.

Rail: The nearest railway station is also Kozhikode.

Road: Malappuram is well connected with major cities in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
