Tea Gardens: Munnar’s top attraction is its scenic tea gardens and is top priority on any travel itinerary in this area. There are around 30 tea estates, all are privately owned (about 27 of them owned by Tata Tea Company), but most estate managers will allow visitors to wander around the estate for free. Tea factories at the estates offer a great opportunity to witness the entire process by which tea changes from being a fresh, hand picked leaf to the fragrant product that makes it to breakfast tables across the world. Some tea factories also offer tea on sale for visitors.

Pothamedu: It is a scenic spot offering majestic views of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The undulating hills, the lush mountain and the incredible scenery here is ideal for trekking and extensive mountain walks.

Pallivasal: This place has earned its fame after it became the venue for the first Hydro Electric Project in Kerala. Situated at a distance of around 8 km from Munnar town, Pallivasal revels in its natural beauty.

Devikulam: It is an idyllic hill station and the most sought-after among the tourist attractions of Munnar featuring sprawling lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cold mountain air. You will also find Sita Devi Lake with its mineral rich water and charming ambiance and is an ideal picnic spot. This place is ideal for trout fishing.

Mattupetty: It is located at a height of 1700 meters and famous for its highly specialized dairy farm. You can visit the cattle shed farms at this place on your tour to Munnar. Besides, the Mattupetty Lake and dam is a short distance from the farm and is a beautiful picnic spot. You can also get boating facilities on the Mattupetty Dam that would simply be exciting.

Attukal: This spot offers uninterrupted panorama of waterfalls and undulating hills and is located between Munnar and Pallivasal. If you wish to go for the long treks, then this place should be your choice.

Nyayamakad: It is located at a distance of 10 kms from Munnar and is a land of incredible waterfalls. The sight of waters cascading down a hill from a height of around 1600 meters is an awe-inspiring one. The captivating surroundings make an outstanding picnic spot and trekking point.

Eravikulam National Park: This flourishing national park is home to the Nilgiri Tahr and also to the Anamudi Peak which is located in the Southern region of the park.

It was initially established to protect the Nilgiri tahr (Nilgiri Ibex) and was recognized as a national park in the year 1978. It is spread over an area of 97 sq kms and is one of the most sought-after among the tourist attractions of Munnar. This park is remarkably beautiful and is a gem to the crown of Munnar.

Rajamala: This is place that gives shelter to the extremely endangered species of Nilgiri Tahr (Hemitragas bylocres). Infact, the place is home to nearly half the population of this mountain goat species in the entire world. Rajamala is situated at a distance of 15 km from Munnar and at a height of 2695 m above sea level.

Echo Point: Echo Point falls in the way to the Top Station and gives you the pleasure of hearing your voice returning to you again and again.

Kundala: This small town at a distance of around 20 km from Munnar is famous for its artificial dam and a Golf Course owned by the Tata Tea. There are two nine hole courses for the delight of golf lovers.

Anayirankal: This place is beautified by the verdant greenery of tea plantations and evergreen forests. There is also a reservoir and a dam to serve as a picnic spot. Anayirankal is at a distance of 22 km from Munnar.

Marayoor:  Around 40 km from Munnar, the rain shadow Marayoor village has earned its fame because of the natural growth of sandalwood trees, natural caves with murals and relics from later stone age civilization. There is also a sandalwood factory managed by the forest department as well as a children's park spread over an area of one hectare. The park is shaded by a single banyan tree. The rare neelakurunji flowers that blooms once in every 12 years is native to this place.

Meenuli: Meenuli is a heaven for adventure lovers. Its massive rocks extending over an area of 500 acres shelters 2 acres of evergreen forests. From atop, you can catch some fascinating views of the lower Periyar Area, Bhoothathankettu and even Ernakulam (provided the weather is good). The place is ideal for trekking.

Nadukani: This one is a wonderful location situated atop a hill at the height of 3000 feet above the sea level. From here you can enjoy some scenic views of green hills, rushing streams, valley, and paddy fields. The Moolamattam town, Malankara lake also make for a pleasant view from here.
